5th Meeting of the eHealth Network

​At its 5th meeting, 13 May 2014 in Athens, the eHealth Network adopted proposals for including eHealth into the Connecting for Europe Facility, next steps towards "Guidelines for cross-border ePrescriptions" and the eHN workplan for 2015 - 2018.

The ​​eHealth Network adopted on 19 Nov 2013 "Guidelines on Minimum/Nonexhaustive Patient Summary Dataset for Electronic Exchange in Accordance with the Cross-border Directive 2011/24/EU"

3rd Meeting of Article 14 eHealth Network - progress on eHealth issues

​On 14 May 2013 in Dublin, the Art. 14 eHealth Network dealt with: patient data for exchange across borders; CEF and eHealth; Semantic and Technical Interoperability; eIdentification; eHealth and Data Protection.

Work in progress on Semantic and Technical Interoperability

​​The eHealth Governance Initiative has been commissioned by the Article 14 eHealth Network to analyse the domain of Semantic and Technical Interoperability. Draft conclusions on Semantic and Technical Interoperability have been submitted to the Article 14 eHealth Network. Once the document has been endorsed by the Network it becomes available for download from this website.

Future activities on Patient Summaries, Interoperability of ePrescriptions and governance of the Connecting Europe Facility

​​Upcoming priorities - which will involve work on operative level within the eHGI - can be derived from the Directive on patients rights in cross-border health. Some of those priorities are detailed below:

Upcoming Data Protection Regulation

​The European Dialogue on the replacement of the earlier Directive on Data Protection by a Regulation is ongoing. An internal process in the eHGI deals with the health data element of the new data protection regulation and a discussion paper has been produced by eHGI.

The Joint Action e-Health Governance Initiative JA-EHGov has recieved funding from the European Union, In the framework of the Health Programme.
The project SEHGovIA is Thematic Network and Is partially funded under the ICT Policy Support Programme (ICTPSP) as part of the Competitiveness and Framework Programm by the European Commission.
