Support

The eHealth Governance Initiative comprises two different, but complementary projects co-financed by EC. One of the projects is called eHGov, a Joint Action and the second one is called SEHGovIA which is a Thematic Network.

The Joint Action - EHGov
The Joint Action aims to support the eHealth Governance Initiative (eHGI) as the platform for technical and political co-operation between Member States on eHealth including their relationships with eHealth Stakeholder Groups. These Stakeholder Groups include EU level organisations representing health professionals, hospitals, patients, standards developing organisations and industry. The results of the Joint Action - recommendations and guidelines - will also support the work of the eHealth Network set up in accordance with Article 14 of the Directive on patients' rights in cross-border healthcare.

In the framework of the eHealth Network, the Commission and Member States will discuss and agree on political and strategic issues related to eHealth, including political prioritisation in the eHealth interoperability roadmap and its implementation. To ensure coordination, coherence and consistency between the political level (the eHealth Network) and the expert level (the Joint Action), the eHealth Network provides guidance for the work of the Joint Action as appropriate.

EHGov Joint Action has 6 work packages:

  • WP1 Coordination of the project
  • WP2 Dissemination of the project
  • WP3 Evaluation of the project
  • WP4 Policy Development and Strategy Alignment
